About Birches Health:
Online gambling has taken over the US. Over 200 million Americans now regularly bet on sports and the rates of gambling addiction have skyrocketed since online gambling’s legalization. As widespread gambling creates record levels of addiction, debt, and bankruptcy, millions of problem gamblers still cannot access specialized, comprehensive care that they desperately need.
At Birches Health, we’re beating the online gambling epidemic with virtual therapy for gambling addiction from specialized clinicians. Our care is covered by insurance and state funding to ensure access to treatment for problem gamblers. We work with patients throughout their gambling addiction journey to improve clinical outcomes and reduce healthcare costs.
Our mission is to build the medical and technological infrastructure for behavioral addiction in the US to make sure millions of patients receive the highest quality clinical outcomes and path to recovery they deserve. We’re backed by leading healthcare and gaming investors including General Catalyst, AlleyCorp, Will Ventures, Defy, Haystack, Operator Partners, and C-suite angels at private and public companies.
Join us to bring addiction care into the present day.
About the Role
Most people who need help for gambling addiction never search for a therapist. They hit a moment of harm somewhere else: a self-exclusion screen, a responsible gaming notification prompt, a conversation with a team's player-development staff or a fraternity advisor. Birches Health exists to be present at those moments and turn them into an individual getting access to specialized care.
We've built a broad set of partnerships across sportsbook and iGaming operators, prediction markets, leagues and teams, universities, and financial institutions. The logos are real.
You'll own the non-clinical partnerships business end to end, reporting to the SVP of Strategy, with one mandate: turn this portfolio into a measurable growth engine, judged on referrals, conversion to first appointment, and client lifetime value. This is not a relationship-management seat. It's a build-and-grow role for someone who will outwork the problem.
What You’ll Own
- Take ownership of the portfolio. Audit every non-clinical partnership in your first 60 days: what was promised, what's live, and what's producing. Tier them, fix the ones worth fixing, restructure or exit the ones that aren't, and put a clear target on each.
- Make partnerships convert. Own the funnel from the first time a partner offers Birches’ services to a first appointment. Work with Product, Clinical, Strategy, and Marketing to tighten referral pathways, placement, messaging, and hand-offs so clients actually get carecare.
- Grow lifetime value, not just volume. Track engagement, retention, and LTV by partner and channel, and steer the portfolio toward the partners and placements that bring in clients who engage and stay.
- Close new deals built to perform. Source and close new partners across operators, prediction markets, leagues and teams, sports media, universities, and financial institutions. Build activation commitments, placement requirements, data sharing, and commercial terms into agreements from day one, so signature is the start of production, not the finish line.
- Represent Birches Health across industries.. Be a visible, trusted presence at gaming, sports, and responsible gaming conferences, building the relationships that open the next set of doors.
- Run the scoreboard. Own the partner scorecard and a weekly pipeline and performance review that gives leadership one honest view of what each channel produces and what it's worth.
You'll work directly with the SVP of Strategy alongside the rest of the Strategy team on payer and clinical channels. Expect to see your work in referral and first-appointment numbers within weeks, and in LTV within quarters.
What We’re Looking For
- Industry operator: 6+ years in partnerships, business development, or commercial roles at a sportsbook or iGaming operator, prediction market, professional league or team, sports media or sports-tech company, or a comparable consumer business. You know how these organizations make decisions, who holds the budget, and what their compliance, marketing, and responsible gaming teams actually care about.
- Proven at making partnerships produce: You've taken deals past signature and turned them into measurable users, revenue, or conversions, and you can walk through the numbers.
- Built to hustle: You'd rather make the tenth call than write another deck about the first nine. You pick up the phone, get on a plane, and chase down blockers yourself. A thin playbook and a big target energize you.
- Commercially sharp: Comfortable with funnel metrics, cohort retention, and unit economics, and you use them to decide where to spend your time and which partners to walk away from.
- Credible with executives: You can hold your own with a league office, an operator's leadership team, or a head of compliance, and represent a mission-driven healthcare brand with integrity.
- Healthcare experience is a plus, not a requirement: What matters is that you care about the mission and learn the clinical model fast.
- AI-native working practice: You use tools like Claude daily to multiply your output, and can show how.
- Location: Based in [New York City; hybrid] or willing to relocate, with regular travel to partners and industry events.
